About Me
My name is Elizabeth Burgos and I have been playing piano since I was 13 years old. Since then, piano and music in general has been my passion. I attended Northwest School of the Arts from 8th - 12th grade, where I was able to hone in and expand on my musicianship. Throughout my time there, I participated in many recitals and piano festivals, did accompaniment for choirs, played in small ensembles, and performed in pit orchestras for our high school musicals Chicago, West Side Story, and The Color Purple.
After graduating high school, I attended Central Piedmont Community College, where I earned my Associate Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Piano in 2015. From there, I transferred to Winthrop University, where I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Music (Piano Performance) in 2018.
Currently, I spend most of my time teaching private piano lessons to students of various ages and experience levels. Outside of Liz Music, I also teach at the Winthrop Music Academy and at the Steele Creek Church of Charlotte Worship Academy. I also play in the worship bands at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, Lake Forest Church in Huntersville, and at Forest Hill Church South Blvd.
I have a passion for teaching and helping students discover their potential through music. When I'm not teaching, I like to spend time improvising, learning new music, and discovering new ways to make music interesting. I've also done some composing and orchestrating during my studies. Although I'm primarily classically trained, I enjoy and have experience with other genres such as contemporary, pop, jazz, and church music.
